My Garden

Garden update: Here is my week 10 garden guys! So currently I am thinking about another plant to put into my celosia pot (ergo the empty pot above.) I'm thinking about getting another herb. Ultimately, gardening has been a very enriching experience for me. I've become very attached to all of my flowers. I'm excited to continue to grow my little garden in the future.

My Meal

So this week I might have trailed off the healthy path with the grilled steak. However, I did roast up an assortment of delicious (and super hot!) peppers and some green onions as well (35 minutes on 400 degrees.) If you couldn't already tell (from my first food post) I'm a big steak person. I grilled this bad boy on the grill outside to a medium and served it up to my friend James. I made sure to marinate my steak overnight with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.  It's healthy because it's all organic, right? right.

Exploring Education

This week I delved into an extremely controversial subject-politics.
I went to Education Week's website and found an amazing recap of where the presidential candidates Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump stand in regards to educational issues. For example, I learned that Hilary supports the common core while Trump wants these standards gone. This site offered various different links to various issues (e.g., college access, testing, teacher quality) I highly recommend this site for all of you! I love how all of this information is put into easily accessible categories. I think that it's extremely important to know the educational stances of the people who might one day run this country.
